Minister KTR laid foundation stone for IT Hub in Nalgonda
Ministers Sri KTR, Sri Jagadish Reddy Guntakandla & Sri Vemula Prashanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the construction of IT Hub in Nalgonda.
Tier-II and Tier-III Locations offer significant advantage in terms of cost of living, operations cost, availability of skilled human resources at low cost, low commuting time, among others. The Government of Telangana has unveiled a focused Rural Technology Centres Policy 2016 to promote Tier-II locations and to motivate the IT industry to set up their IT/ITES operations. The IT, E&C Department is developing IT Towers and Incubation Centres across Tier II and Tier III locations including Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad, and Siddipet with a target to generate employment to 25,000 professionals by 2026.
The Government of Telangana aspires to transform the State into a Knowledge Society and make available the benefits of Information Technology to the last mile of the State and to all citizens, especially those living in Tier-II cities. The Government of Telangana has unveiled a focused Policy for the growth and development of Tier-II cities and rural areas.
Tier-II Locations offer significant advantage, in terms of cost of living, operations cost, availability of skilled human resources at low cost, low commuting time, etc. These locations account for over 30% savings, as compared to large cities. To further promote Tier-II locations and to motivate the IT industry to set up their IT/ITES operations, State Government has offered several specific incentives.
The State Government has also announced Rural Technology Policy for companies which intend to set up their IT/BPO Units in rural areas and are giving incentives in addition to those given to units set up in Hyderabad.
In order to generate employment opportunities for local youths, the State Government is developing IT Towers/Incubation Centres in various Districts including Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad, Siddipet, Nalgonda and Ramagundam. The IT Incubation Centres are funded by the State Government and are being constructed by TSIIC. Set a target of generating employment to 25,000 professionals across the tier-2/tier-3 locations.
Warangal
The IT Incubation Centre in Madikonda, Warangal was inaugurated on 19.02.2016. The IT Incubation Centre is constructed in an area of 2 acres with a total built up area of 15,000 sft to enable Start-up, Micro, Small and Medium IT companies to operate in a “Plug and Play” and hassle free environment.
The IT Incubation Centre is fully operational with three companies i.e. M/s. Tech Mahindra, M/s. Ventois Software and M/s. Kakatiya IT Solutions. M/s. Cyient has initially operated from Incubation Centre and later migrated to its own campus within the Warangal IT SEZ.
The IT Incubation Centre will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities to about 1000 educated youth. The Phase-II IT Incubation Centre is nearing completion. M/s. Tech Mahindra has committed to take the entire Phase-II for expanding its operations.
Khammam
The Khammam IT Tower was inaugurated on 07.12.2020. The IT Incubation Centre is built in an area of 50,000 sq. ft. Nineteen IT companies are operating from the facility with a total built up space of 41,250 sq.ft and 430 seats. Construction of Phase II IT Tower, with 570 additional seats, was started as 31 more companies showed interest in setting up shop.
Karimnagar
The Karimnagar IT Tower comprising 60,000 sq.ft built-up space with an investment of Rs. 33 crores was inaugurated in July, 2020. Eighteen companies currently are operating out of this space.
Mahbubnagar
The State Government is setting up an IT Tower at Mahbubnagar District with an investment of Rs. 25 crores and built up space of 50,000 sq.ft. Foundation stone was laid on 7th July, 2018.
Nizamabad
The State Government is setting up an IT Tower including Innovation Hub at Nizamabad District with an investment of Rs.33 crores and built up space of 50,000 sq.ft. Foundation stone was laid on 1st August, 2018 for construction of IT Tower in Nizamabad.
Siddipet
Telangana Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao laid foundation stone for an IT Tower in Siddipet on 10th December, 2020.
Nalgonda
Ministers Sri KT Rama Rao, Sri G. Jagadish Reddy and Sri V. Prashanth Reddy laid foundation stone for the construction of IT Hub in Nalgonda on 31st December, 2021.
Additionally, the IT, E&C Department has contemplated building IT Towers in Ramagundam and Wanaparthy with 200 Seats and 250 Seats respectively.

Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao laid foundation stone for IT Towers on 10 December, 2022, which is taken up with a cost of Rs 45 Crore in Nagula Banda, Siddipet.
IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday inaugurated the new Karimnagar IT Tower and a regional office of Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge.
Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said the government was making all efforts to ensure that the IT industry expands to all the Tier II cities in the State soon.

The decision comes after a meeting between IT Minister KTR and Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group and CP Gurnani CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra.
The first TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) regional centre for the State of Telangana was inaugurated at Warangal.
The State government has decided to set up regional centres of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in Warangal and Nizamabad districts.
