PSC Chairpersons laud Telangana Govt for THub initiative

Secretary, IT E&C Department Sri Jayesh Ranjan offered to assist Public Service Commissions in digitizing the respective recruitment processes on the lines of Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) being successfully implemented by Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Sri Jayesh Ranjan accompanied UPSC Chairman and Chairpersons of 29 State Public Service Commission’s who visited the THub facility today. The Chairpersons were in Hyderabad to attend the 18th National Conference of Public Service Commission’s held on 4 and 5 February, 2016.

Secretary Sri Jayesh Ranjan gave an overview of THub, the famed tech incubator located in IIITH campus, from the stage of conceptualization to its present form that gained international recognition. The Chairpersons were detailed on the startup ecosystem and how the startups are groomed at the Catalyst building.

The Chairpersons later interacted with IT companies that are specialized in the development of technology solutions for digital evaluation and assessment with respect to examinations held online. The PSC heads showed keen interest in understanding the various technology breakthroughs as the industry leaders presented them.

Later, the THub leadership took the Chairpersons of the PSCs on a tour of THub. UPSC Chairman Sri Deepak Gupta showered praise on Government of Telangana for bringing in THub. He stated that no State in India has such a state of the art building and called it a novel initiative. Such facility should be expanded to other States and nations, he added.

Chairman of TSPSC Sri Ghanta Chakrapani said it had successfully conducted competitive exams online and the first State to do so. He lauded the assistance of IT E&C Department in this regard.

Earlier in the day, to give a firsthand feel of IT Industry and its functioning, IT E&C Department organized an IT Tour for the Chairpersons wherein they visited Infosys campus in Gachibowli.
